Project Blueballs is a 1971 Nova which is owned by Joe Vezzosi (father of PSI co-owner Jon Vezzosi). The car was originally bought by Jon Vezzosi in 1996 and it has been in the Vezzosi family since. Originalliy a 6 cylinder powerglide car, it has scene numerous engine swaps over the years while being raced periodically. The current incarnation is meant to be drag raced but also driven to local cruise nights and car shows. All work on the latest build has been done by Jon’s close friend Tom Flitcroft in Phenix City, AL.

Progress

You can check for regular updates on project #blueballs through PSI facebook (facebook.com/psiconversion) and Instagram (instagram.com/psiconversion) pages. The engine and transmission swap were completed in December 2019 and after some tweaks on the dyno, made 699-RWHP. Following our dyno outing, the car was brought to the track for some shakedown runs, which resulted in the Chrysler 8-3/4 rear axle housing being bent like a pretzel. As of Febuary 2020, a new custom Ford 9-inch rear with strange axles and center section are going in the car. Estimated completion is March 2020. Stay tuned for updates.
